“I worked with Sravan at Verizon from 2007 to 2013 in the Usability team. During that time his skills and capabilities increased tremendously in technical, user experience, and management areas. It was a great honor to work with him.

He worked on taking UI designs and writing the browser-based user interface layer code for several internally-facing applications and was the lead user interface layer developer and manager for the CoFEE Ordering, Billing, and Dispatch applications. In that role he was critically important to the successful implementation of the applications, with his own coding and his management of a team of India-based UI layer developers. This UI layer coding team is a key asset to the Usability team by making it easy to standardize and extend designs as functionality and enhancements are added to the applications. Sravan and his team worked to extend the same CoFEE designs, stylesheets, and code to PC Desktops and Android tablets.

Besides the application coding of the UI layers, he designed, developed and implemented the UI component styleguide for the applications, with icon and code libraries including HTML/Javascript/JQuery/AngularJS and other coding technologies. These well-organized and pre-created components saved hours of development for development teams that had high turnover of staff. He also worked to establish coding standards for the application teams including MVC4, which helped improve the code architecture, streamlined development, and made it easier to isolate defects.

As a user experience designer, Sravan excelled at identifying how to streamline and organize page layouts and flows to accomplish the work tasks. CoFEE and the other applications he worked on were new browser-based UI layers put in place over pre-existing legacy applications. The new UI permitted changing the transaction flows for ordering, billing and dispatch tasks, and Sravan worked with India and US-based members of the usability team to improve these flows. He helped develop a tab-based progression for ordering, and helped simplify the Billing and Dispatch transactions. He had a personal view into each functional area and enhancement, and was able to suggest revisions or rework to improve the usability and technical elements. He designed several of the icons that were used in the library and the applications, and he constantly provided up-to-date technological R&D work in HTML, JQuery, and AngularJS that was added to the applications.

In his business role, he grew to manage a team of UI layer developers, working with all levels of programmers, managers, and delivery heads in both the United States and India. He became a respected authority in this role and was asked to resolve technical issues with UI layers for many applications. He worked to improve the working relationships between the usability teams and the development teams, and was able to easily work with and manage remote colleagues in Chennai and the United States.”
